The Streak Continues! The Bruins have been phenomenal on the road this season going 5-0-0. This past weekend was no different against The Florida Panthers and The Tampa Bay Lightening. Tampa proved to be a formidable opponent as the Bruins went down 1-0 in the first, on a goal from Nikita Kucherov. That lead didn’t last long though as Boston was able to fight back and tie it up 1-1 on a goal from new comer Matt Beleskey. Goals from Jimmy Hayes and an empty net goal from Marchand in the third period sealed this one up for the Bruins as they finished off the Florida road trip going 2-0 and out scoring their opponents 6-2. Hayes and Connolly where strong again in these two, combining for three points. Brad Marchand stepped up as well in these past few games earning himself 3 goals and an assist against the Panthers (2 goals) and the Lightening (1goal,1 assist). Marchand has also captured the NHL’s first star of the week, with St. louis’ Allen and Edmonton’s Hall getting 2nd and 3rd respectively. Although the Bruins came out of Florida without a loss they certainly had to earn their wins. Saturdays against Tampa was a battle and the Bruins appeared to be a bit sluggish throughout. The Goals keep coming though, and strong performances from Rask and Gustavsson have got this team playing confident. The defense has been a lot more structured and stable since the beginning on the season, and the team as a whole looks less unsure as they had previously. Tuesdays game against The Dallas Stars will be a tough one. Dallas has won their last 3, and will likely be coming off a win in Toronto on Monday. The Tyler Seguin and Jamie Benn tandem will be one to look out for on Tuesday night as Boston looks to get their second win at home.
